Tony Bennett took his place on the forefront of pop music when he recorded “We Left My Heart in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA” in 1962. Despite being trained in art, Bennett made a decision to pursue a profession in music that included a stint as a singing waiter.

Bennett spoke with Wink Martindale in August of 1972 on the subject of his accomplished profession that included many awards, honors and hit singles. He discusses his many hit songs through the entire 1950s and beyond. While he sang some contemporary songs, Bennett under no circumstances delved into rock and always stayed accurate to his unique singing style.
