St. George’s Cathedral represents the fusion from the Kiev-Byzantine traditions: the architect provides managed to put the fundamental process from the Byzantine architecture into practice. The cathedral can be dedicated to St. George, the patron saint of Prince Jaroslav, the Sage, founder from the monastery.

It had been distributed on the radial documents from the plinths, placed on the niche categories, windows and bows. A fragment of this type has been preserved on the arc of the portal of the northern facade.

The ancient frescoes, dating back again to 1130, have already been preserved partly, in the altar area, beneath the new floor. Also some ornamental compositions were on the wall space of the home windows.
