Summary:
Over Easter weekend 2015, a motley crew of six English thieves, several in their sixties and seventies, couldn’t resist coming out of retirement for one last career-topping heist. Their focus on: the Hatton Garden Safe Deposit, in the heart of London’s medieval diamond area. ‘The Firm’ included Brian Reader, ringleader and star in his own brain; Terry Perkins, a tough-as-nails career criminal but also a frail diabetic; Danny Jones, an exercise freak, crime fan, and fabulist; Carl Solid wood, about THE FINAL Work: ‘The Bad Grandpas’ as well as the Hatton Backyard Heist a supplementary pair of hands, and definitely even more brawn than brains; John ‘Kenny’ Collins, holiday driver, susceptible to falling asleep face to face; and the inexplicable Basil, a red-wigged affiliate who has just now been determined.
Perhaps not the smoothest of criminals-one took a public bus towards the scene from the crime; another read Forensics for Dummies in hopes that he’d learn how to avoid getting caught-they planned the job over fish and potato chips at a common pubs. These were cantankerous and coarse, dubbed the ‘Bad Grandpas’ by United kingdom tabloids, and had been often as likely to complain about each other as the current state of the country. Still, these analog thieves in an electronic age were able to disable a high-security alarm system and leave with a sensational haul of at least $19 million in jewels, silver, diamonds, family members heirlooms, and cash.
