Summary:
Gunvald Larsson sits carefully observing the dingy Stockholm apartment of a guy under police security. He talks about his watch: nine a few minutes past eleven at night. At that same instant, the house explodes, killing at least three people. Chief Inspector Martin Beck and his men don’t believe arson or murder until they discover a peculiar situation linking the explosion to a suicide committed that same day. The dead man left an email consisting of just two words: Martin Beck.
This is actually the excellent next installment of the genre-pioneering Martin Beck detective series through the 1960s, more popular as the greatest masterpieces of crime fiction ever written.
