Both systems, says Legutko, reduce human nature to that of the common man, who’s led to believe himself liberated from your obligations of days gone by. Both the communist guy as well as the liberal democratic guy refuse to confess that there exists anything of value outside the politics systems to which they pledged their commitment. And both systems refuse to undertake any crucial study of their ideological prejudices.
