Shortly after their mother’s death, sisters Maureen and Lesley are packing up their house. It’s an agonizing responsibility, with Maureen trying to control the worst of Lesley’s projectile lamenting. Then a strange guy knocks at the door and introduces himself as David Johnson, a friend of Maureen’s neighbour. He’d prefer to view the home if they are thinking of offering – which Maureen about Skeletons in the Cupboard: A BBC Radio 4 Comedy Drama definitely is.
But Lesley has additional concepts and, behind Maureen’s back, gives David their mother’s older bedroom like a pied-a-terre. Maureen is definitely frustrated by Lesley’s effort, but David is normally oblivious to the tension he has caused.
Steadily, he forces his way in to the sisters’ lives, turning up at inopportune moments and continuously getting in their hair. As they both become progressively sick and tired of him, Maureen and Lesley put aside their variations and unite to try and find out who this David Johnson is usually, and what he’s hiding.
However when his key is finally revealed, the sisters are set for a shock…
Created by acclaimed writer and broadcaster Sue Limb, of Gloomsbury fame, this delightful sitcom stars Alison Steadman as Maureen, Morwenna Banking institutions as Lesley and Nigel Planer as David.
