Summary:
Cold, great drops of rain fall softly about Evie’s cheeks as she emerges in the darkness from the ship’s interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main deck. Pulling her dark peacoat tighter to her body, the blowing wind lifts reddish tendrils of her locks. She walks slowly towards the railing looking over the water.
She catches her first sight from the Irish coastline; its craggy landscape makes her shiver in dread. She discovers it difficult to imagine now the way the Gancanagh got made this their home for such a long time without anyone realizing it. The frosty, moss-covered edifices virtually scream their existence. As she studies the shadows between your falling-down stone, she imagines creeping styles of undead Faeries grasping the rock and roll, waiting for their dispatch to pull nearer to their position.
Tipping her face up, she enables the rain clean over her. It bathes apart the frigid perspire of fear which has broken on her behalf brow. ‘You have no idea how fiercely gorgeous you are, do you?’ a tranquil tone of voice behind her asks, causing her to stiffen and fix her eyes in the stones along the shoreline.
