The fifth book in the interesting Callahan Garrity series sees the cleaning lady/sleuth searching for the murderer of a female whom the complete city adored to hate.

Callahan Garrity has her hands full endeavoring to expand her House Mouse cleaning business. So she’s reluctant to defend myself against a client looking for detective services, especially when that client is the most notorious female in Atlanta-Whitney Albright Dobbs. Whitney is a wealthy socialite who, while under the influence, hit and killed a young dark girl and just kept driving.

Whitney’s light phrase has set the city’s racial tensions ablaze, and Callahan is not especially thinking about helping track down Whitney’s soon-to-be-ex-husband’s concealed resources. Against her better view, though, Callahan launches a full-out search for Dr. Dobbs’s dollars. Nonetheless it only takes a glance to find out that more than Whitney’s alimony reaches stake.
