East of Croydon: Travels through India and South East Asia inspired by her BBC 1 series ‘The Ganges’ Audiobook (Free)

Penguin presents the audiobook model of East of Croydon written and read by Sue Perkins.

A couple of years ago I was asked if I’d like to produce a documentary around the Mekong River, travelling from the vast delta in Vietnam to the remote control and snowy peaks of Tibet.

Up until that time, the farthest East I’d been was Torremolinos, in the Costa Del Sol.

I have zero practical skills.

I cannot survive if I am greater than a three minute walk from a supermarket.

Going back seven years I’ve had to endure crippling anxiety

I actually bolt when panicked.

I cannot keep to witness individuals or pets in distress

I have no ability to learn languages.

I am an awful hypochondriac

And I am zero good with ships.

So I said yes.
