Summary:
From NY Times bestselling author Stephen King comes the haunting story of Blockade Billy, the best Major League baseball player to become erased from the overall game.
Even the most die-hard baseball fans don’t understand the true story of William “Blockade Billy” Blakely. He may have been the greatest player the game has ever noticed, but today nobody remembers his name. He was the first–and only–player to possess his existence totally taken off the record books. Also his team is usually long forgotten, about Blockade Billy barely a footnote in the game’s background.
Every effort was designed to erase any evidence that William Blakely played professional baseball, and with good reason. Blockade Billy had a secret darker than any tablet or injection that might result in a scandal in sports activities today. His key was much, very much worse… and only Stephen King, probably the most gifted storyteller of our age, can reveal the truth to the world, once and for all.
Originally published through Cemetery Dance Publications about April 20, 2010 like a $25.00 limited-edition hardcover, Stephen King and Cemetery Dance have made an arrangement with Scribner to offer a less expensive hardcover release of Blockade Billy, with an on-sale day of May 25th, the same date the audiobook continues on sale. The Scribner release will be available in all U.S. and Canadian shops. Both the Scribner book as well as the Simon & Schuster audiobook will feature a reward short story (‘Morality’).
