An advertising executive receives a postcard from a friend and casually appropriates the image for an advertisement. What he doesn’t realize is that contained in the scene is certainly a mutant sheep using a superstar on its back again, and in using this picture he has unwittingly captured the interest of a guy who offers a menacing ultimatum: find the sheep or face dire consequences. Hence starts a surreal and complex quest that takes readers from Tokyo towards the remote mountains of northern Japan, where in fact the unnamed protagonist has a unexpected confrontation with his demons.
