Summary:
Shylock, a Jewish moneylender, agrees to lend Antonio, a Venetian product owner, three thousand ducats so that his friend Bassanio are able to courtroom his love, Portia. Nevertheless, Shylock has one condition: if the mortgage go unpaid, he’ll be eligible for a pound of Antonio’s personal flesh. In the mean time in Belmont, according to the conditions of her father’s will, Portia’s many suitors must choose correctly from three caskets. Bassanio arrives at Portia’s estate and they declare their like for just one another before he picks the right casket. Antonio falls into poor fortune and discovers he cannot repay Shylock: a dramatic trial ensues to choose his fate.
