When Lioba Fielding dies in real life, her partner John Armstrong downloads himself into World B so that they can find her avatar. As he moves between several worlds he turns into entangled in an array of unusual scenarios, teleporting from each adventure to the next with his partner Medley, a ‘rogue avatar’ who about World B: The Complete Series 1-3: The BBC Radio sci-fi theatre has no individual controller. Even while, John and Medley are being watched by a dog-like antivirus programme known as Cerberus who, along with the World B Company, considers the rogues to be always a computer virus that need to become wiped out.

But John soon begins to trust that Lioba might still be alive somewhere in World B, which the games he is playing may be more true and deadly than he first thought.
